In a collegiate setting "Never Say Die" is a 45 minute show that serves as edutainment. The main character deals with pressures surrounding the decisions of his past and pursuing his passion as responsibilities begin to pressure him into second guessing the life he has built. The decision to leave that passion sends him into a depression that has dire consequences.
The following talk back is interactive. We layout the motivation behind the character and then collectively dive into the ideas around ambition, ethics, moral values and what each of them believe is their ambition and why. It can be facilitated with an additional worksheet and has options that include a customizable menu.
The premise behind "Never Say Die" is to look at the actions (through poems) and the inner monologue of those actions (through monologues) of a character heading down a path that leads to a depressive state. I believe there is an ability to use this performance as a clinical exercise in class. The 45 minute performance can be broken down into units to accent lessons or build out curricula. I can also do this remotely or on site. For more information please fill out the form below.
